Smart Data will host an open event at the House of Language and Culture on Laugavegur, Wednesday, May 14th at 14:00. The event is part of Iceland Innovation Week 2025, which is an annual harvest celebration of Icelandic startups. At the event, representatives from this fifteen-person startup will take the stage and share their experiences in developing artificial intelligence solutions in an unfiltered manner with a focus on obstacles and falls.

Answering questions will be Stefán Baxter, founder and CEO of Smart Data, and Dr. Óli Páll Geirsson, co-founder and head of data science at the company. Stefán mentions that they mean to share lessons from an eventful journey characterized by twists and turns, as the journey of a startup is never a direct and wide road. According to Stefán, all questions will be answered, and difficult questions are especially welcome.

"Óli and I have no secrets, and at the event, we intend to provide insights into the real projects and challenges that come with developing software solutions based on artificial intelligence. This will be an open and candid conversation about what has worked and what has gone differently than expected. Hopefully, an enjoyable storytelling session with useful advice, spanning everything from funding, operations, and revenue to technical topics and language models," says Stefán.

After the event, light refreshments will be offered at the Smart Data office at Laugavegur 11, where guests will have the opportunity to continue discussing matters with the team in an informal setting.

The event is free and open to all, but guests are requested to register here.
